I think she’s holding an angel doll. I’m reliably informed that when she was created, she held a sign (now on the ground beside the statue) with a quote about angels. A shame that someone (it wasn’t the artist) thought it would be better at eye level… because without the light from the sky illuminating the cut-out letters a) it’s not easy to read now and b) it’s completely changed the context. I’m posting the quote tomorrow : )
