I am an artist/graphic designer working in Christchurch, New Zealand. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t painting or drawing or writing or making something.
I began exploring art as a possible career in 2009. I studied art and graphic design at the Design & Arts College of New Zealand and completed my Communication Arts and Design Diploma in 2012. During my time at art school, I fell in love with painting and drawing all over again.
This blog began as a way of putting my student portfolio online and it quickly became a way of documenting my creative journey. Art, especially painting, is now part of my every day.
Everywhere I look, there are beautiful landscapes, cityscapes, natural wonders and manmade structures just waiting to be photographed, sketched and painted. I enjoy experimenting with colour and texture and I love the different effects that light has on a landscape.
I have exhibited at the Christchurch Art Show and the Pegasus Bay Art Show, and my paintings are in private collections in the U.S., the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.
I work from home in a room I call the ‘art cave’ (in reality, it is anything but cold and dark ― it is the sunniest room in the house). I am passionate about inspiring others to explore their own creativity, to see beauty in unexpected places and to follow their dreams.
Thanks for stopping by,
Anna
