November is a crazy month… and it just got crazier. I have decided to take some of my art to a local craft fair (details below). It’s a real first for me as I’ve never offered my art for sale before. The fair is next Saturday (23rd)*. If you happen to be in the neighbourhood, it would be so very cool to see you there.
Halswell Lions Club Craft Fair
Saturday 23rd November, 9 AM – 1 PM
Halswell Hall
Halswell Road
Christchurch (New Zealand)
P.S. For the curious among you, the Runner image is based on this doodle.
* PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, the craft fair was cancelled. Organisers say there were not enough stall holders to make it worthwhile holding the event.
Best luck at the craft fair! 🙂
Thanks. Less than a week to go and SO MUCH still to do!
Good luck Anna, I wish I could get there to see your fabulous work and meet you.
Thank you. That’s very encouraging : )
If I was in NZ I would be there! I’m always reading about lots of wonderful events on wordpress – and then discover they are very far away! Good luck at the craft fair!
Thanks. Yes, I know exactly what you mean — so many enticing events all around the world and not enough in your own backyard : )
Wish I could be there (for one thing, it’s the dead of winter here! And I would love to see your wonderful work in person)! I like the runner painting a lot. It reminds me of a dream I had recently in which I was running, then climbing an impossible precipice. Crazy!
Thanks, Camilla. I’m glad you like the painting. It feels very personal to me… but then they’re the ones that tend to speak the most to others, aren’t they?!
Cool painting, keep us posted on the results of the art fair. – Sharon
Thanks, Sharon. Of course I’ll let you know how the fair goes — although I’m not expecting a lot. It’s being run at a time of year when there are so many things on… I’m not even sure how much advertising it’s getting or if there will be any other paintings for sale. Still, I only have to wait a week to find out!
I love your painting… have fun. Wish I could go…
Thanks, Anita. It’s all a bit scary… I can’t believe I’m already getting nervous. I’m so glad it’s not a BIG fair — I’d be a complete wreck ; )
Awesome that you are bringing your work to the art fair and have it up for sale. Best wishes at the fair!
Thank you, Dave. I wasn’t planning to offer anything for sale until next year but a friend talked me into it… probably just the little push I needed. Now I’m varnishing madly and hoping everything dries in time!
wish I could be there – all the best
Thanks, Maureen. I’ll try to remember to take some photos of our stall : )
Thanks 🙂
That’s really exciting about the fair, Anna. You’re so prolific, I can’t believe you haven’t offered it for sale before. Hope it’s a fun and successful day!
Thanks so much, Psyren. While I have had one commission, I’m not counting that (because it was commissioned). I’ve only been painting ‘seriously’ for a couple of years (apart from when I was a serious 10-year-old artist, that is!)… and I’ve never tried to sell any of my paintings. Until now. Let’s just say it’s been a long time coming ; )
Good Luck
Thanks, Najlaa. Unfortunately I’ve just found out that the fair has been cancelled (it seems they didn’t have enough stall holders to make it worthwhile). I’ll be posting about it tomorrow.
