The next step…

Runner – acrylic on canvas, 305 x 255 mm, 2013. SOLD

November is a crazy month… and it just got crazier. I have decided to take some of my art to a local craft fair (details below). It’s a real first for me as I’ve never offered my art for sale before. The fair is next Saturday (23rd)*. If you happen to be in the neighbourhood, it would be so very cool to see you there.

Halswell Lions Club Craft Fair
Saturday 23rd November, 9 AM – 1 PM
Halswell Hall
Halswell Road
Christchurch (New Zealand)

P.S. For the curious among you, the Runner image is based on this doodle.

* PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, the craft fair was cancelled. Organisers say there were not enough stall holders to make it worthwhile holding the event.

  1. If I was in NZ I would be there! I’m always reading about lots of wonderful events on wordpress – and then discover they are very far away! Good luck at the craft fair!

  2. Wish I could be there (for one thing, it’s the dead of winter here! And I would love to see your wonderful work in person)! I like the runner painting a lot. It reminds me of a dream I had recently in which I was running, then climbing an impossible precipice. Crazy!

    1. Thanks, Camilla. I’m glad you like the painting. It feels very personal to me… but then they’re the ones that tend to speak the most to others, aren’t they?!

    1. Thanks, Sharon. Of course I’ll let you know how the fair goes — although I’m not expecting a lot. It’s being run at a time of year when there are so many things on… I’m not even sure how much advertising it’s getting or if there will be any other paintings for sale. Still, I only have to wait a week to find out!

    1. Thank you, Dave. I wasn’t planning to offer anything for sale until next year but a friend talked me into it… probably just the little push I needed. Now I’m varnishing madly and hoping everything dries in time!

  3. That’s really exciting about the fair, Anna. You’re so prolific, I can’t believe you haven’t offered it for sale before. Hope it’s a fun and successful day!

    1. Thanks so much, Psyren. While I have had one commission, I’m not counting that (because it was commissioned). I’ve only been painting ‘seriously’ for a couple of years (apart from when I was a serious 10-year-old artist, that is!)… and I’ve never tried to sell any of my paintings. Until now. Let’s just say it’s been a long time coming ; )

    1. Thanks, Najlaa. Unfortunately I’ve just found out that the fair has been cancelled (it seems they didn’t have enough stall holders to make it worthwhile). I’ll be posting about it tomorrow.
