CRAFT FAIR UPDATE: Unfortunately, this Saturday’s craft fair in Halswell (Christchurch, New Zealand) has been cancelled. The organisers say there weren’t enough stall holders to make it worthwhile. I find myself looking around the art cave at my freshly varnished paintings and thinking: what was all that about? Ah well, at least I’ll be prepared when the next art fair comes along!
So that’s the reason I’m posting Monday’s Shoot it, Sketch it a few days early (the painting is a reworking of Riding the waves) ― to let you know what’s happening (or not happening, as the case may be) and because it’s the perfect image for how I’m feeling at the moment.
Now I think I’ll have a few days off and turn my attention to more pressing matters… such as the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who this weekend : )

Too bad about the craft fair. Disappointing for sure. Keep painting!
Don’t worry… I will. Disappointing, yes — I put a lot of work into being ready for it. But it’s also a bit of a relief (the timing wasn’t brilliant because of other commitments).
And I’m serious when I say I’m now happy to focus on Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary.
This came out great. The movement of the water and just the general way you captured the water is really good.

Oh, what a shame for you, as you say, at least you’ll be prepared for the next one.
The other good thing is that I have NO unfinished paintings waiting in the wings. None. Nada. Zilch. Which must be why I went out and bought two more canvases today : )

It would be so cool if you did join in again… As it is, I think I may be the only one still posting them! But then it is the way I tend to work anyway ; )
