This is my second sketch based on the photos I took on my way to LUXcity in Christchurch last year. It’s the companion piece to City Lights. The end result is not quite what I had in mind when I started sketching. It’s full of unexpected outcomes — and I’m okay with that.
Other bloggers taking part in Shoot it, Sketch it are Clouds of Colour, The Little Leaf, Lunch Sketch, Poppytump, Two Scamps, Breana and 30 Minute Art.
Oh wow Anna. This is really incredible. LOVE your colours and detail in the silhouettes 🙂
Beautiful once again Anna 🙂 None from me again this week, I am changing over to self hosted. Maybe it will give me a chance this week to get a few done 🙂
The site blocks my “likes”, maybe because I blocked cookies and pop-ups? But I like it (your sketches, not cookies and pop-ups. Well, real cookies I also like)
I’m glad you like my sketch. Sorry you’ve had trouble with the ‘like’ option. I’ve had some trouble liking other blog posts recently too – no idea why.
And now, for some strange reason, I’m craving cookies : )
Picture Perfect Anna ! Loving that sky 🙂
I’m playing hooky for a short bit on shoot it sketch it but will be back soon 🙂
Your sketch is how the photo should appear! Thank you for sharing. Take care, Anna
I love how the buildings are linear and black and white, and how the sunset bleeds into some of the buildings. It’s such a contrast, and each one makes the other stand out in different ways. Brilliant.
Thanks : ) I really like the way the sunset washes over the buildings too. It’s not something I originally planned to do — but it’s now my favourite thing about the sketch.
I like that bit too especially. A combination of tight and loose drawing. Its very nice Anna Cull and I like seeing the photo next to it.
Great work Anna. You brought fire to the sky!
What a beautiful, dramatic sky! Lovely sketch.
I love the color of the sky! Beautiful sketch! 🙂
Love your colors in the sketch better than the photo. Beautiful!
Very nice!
Beautiful!
